Privacy Policy
Last updated 10 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data Investing Desk handles when you visit investingdesk.co.uk or contact us, why, how long we keep it and your rights under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018). In short, we collect as little as possible.
Who we are
Investing Desk is published by Dailotte Consulting Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15601872). We are the data controller for personal data processed through this website. Contact us about anything in this policy at info@investingdesk.co.uk.
No cookies, analytics or tracking
This site does not set cookies, run analytics or advertising scripts, or use tracking pixels or social media plugins. Our fonts and images are served from our own domain, so loading a page does not send your details to a font or image service. You don't need to create an account to use the site.
What we do process, and why
When you visit the site
Like every website, our hosting needs some technical information to deliver pages to you and protect the site from abuse: your IP address, the page requested, the date and time, and your browser type. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes this information on our behalf as part of serving and securing the site. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website. We don't use this information to identify you or build a profile of you.
When you email us
If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and to deal with what you've asked, such as a correction to a guide. Our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us. Our mailbox is provided by an email hosting service that processes messages on our behalf.
When you use our calculators
Our calculators run entirely in your browser. The figures you enter are not sent to us or stored anywhere, and they disappear when you close or reload the page.
How long we keep it
We keep emails for as long as we need to deal with your enquiry and for up to two years afterwards, in case it comes up again, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Technical request logs are held by our hosting provider for a limited period under its own retention policy and are not kept by us.
Who we share it with
We don't sell personal data or share it for marketing. The only organisations that handle it are the service providers that host the site and our email, acting on our instructions. We would disclose information if the law required it. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, they use the safeguards UK data protection law requires, such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
Links to other websites
Our guides link to official sources such as GOV.UK, the FCA and MoneyHelper. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we aren't responsible for how they handle your data. If we add links to investment providers in future, we will update this policy before they appear.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- ask for a copy of any personal data we hold about you
- ask us to correct data that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your data
- object to or ask us to restrict how we use it
To use any of these rights, email info@investingdesk.co.uk. We'll respond within one month, as the law requires. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, though we'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, for example by adding analytics or a newsletter, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
